The Morgan's Hotel Group, rockstars in innovative hotel design, has just opened The Mondrian South Beach. With its fantastical interiors designed by Marcel Wanders, this property is the first of Morgans' properties to offer private residences with condo-hotel ownership. Located on trendy West Avenue, The Mondrian offers sweeping views of Biscayne Bay in a fairytale-like setting; Wanders envisioned the property as "Sleeping Beauty's Castle," and with their foliage-curtain cabanas, adult sandbox and chandelier-rainfall showerheads, to name just a few the stunning design details, all guests are immersed in the fantasy of a children's storybook.

I had the pleasure of grabbing a cocktail at the hotel's now infamous Sunset Lounge before leaving the Magic City behind, and everything from the polished bar and outstanding terrace left me wanting more. For those of you in the mood for an evening snack, the property is home to Jeffrey Chodorow's Asia de Cuba, and the agua spa is the perfect retreat after a night of revelry on Miami Beach. -Meredith Mulligan
