Last night Tesla unveiled its new energy saving and very sleek automobile.
The top-of-the-line battery, with about 8,000 cells, will take four hours to recharge at a cost of about $5 at current electricity rates. It can take a quick charge in about 45 minutes.
Auto makers hope the sporty Model S will be the family-friendly car of the future. But, those families will need to have a substantial chunk of cash. The Model S will cost $49,900 after a $7,500 federal rebate for buying an electric vehicle.
