Justin Reed is a Vermont based artist and a brilliant illustrator that takes his passion for film and translates it onto paper. Reed as a recent show at the APW Gallery in New York and his recent work features the films: Taxi Driver, The Godfather, The Day the Earth Stood Still, Casablanca and Monty Python. Each piece is priced at $150.00 (that price is not a typo) and I wouldn't be surprised if all five were purchased immediately.

PARIS — Two rare bronze sculptures that disappeared from China nearly 150 years ago _ and demanded back by Beijing _ sold for millions Wednesday as an auction of art works owned by the late fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent concluded with dazzling sales of nearly $500 million.
The collection of Saint Laurent and his partner, Pierre Berge, broke several world records in a three-day "sale of the century" that amassed more than $484 million (euro373 million), said the organizer, Christie's.

Australian artist Jeremy Geddes creates paintings that are dramatic, compelling, and highly realistic. An inspiration in one of his series includes an astronaut be placed strangely in an urban environment. His narratives may even appear to be shocking or frightening at times. What is signature in his work is his use of light and space, which conjure up imagery of my favorite artist, Caravaggio. Now he's not as good as Caravaggio, obviously, but cut him some slack, his paintings definitely make you take a second look. Geddes has also received fame and awards for his illustrating techniques for the comic Doomed. -John Sebelius

The Moodwall is a pilot project for a 70 meter long media wall proposal by Urban Alliance (in collaboration with Daan Hartoog) which won a competition for ideas to improve the public space of the social unsafe area of the Amsterdam Bijlmer. Nothing makes me feel more safe then being chased by strobes of magenta and maroon lighting. The roundness of the wall makes it less suitable for graffiti or defacement, good thinking.

The Moodwall was designed by Jasper Klinkhamer (Studio Klink) in collaboration with Remco Wilcke (Cube Architects), who was also responsible for the construction. The content was developed by Hans van Helden and Matthijs ten Berge of Illuminate in collaboration with artist Matthias Oostrik and students of the dutch art academy HKU.
